Tirzah Camacho is originally from the Bay Area, California. Now a ten year resident of the Southwest, she recently opened a live studio and exhibition space in downtown Durango, CO called Studio &. With a hefty background in printmaking and painting, Tirzah enjoys combining the techniques in a contemporary fashion to tell stories about her current social position, or odd and ironic scenarios. She is also in the middle of converting to solely painting on found objects and refurbished materials as part of a personal green art endeavor. The information that informs her work is broad: auto shops and parts, dead bugs, motherhood, consumerism, gender and loss are reoccurring themes. "I'm concerned with presenting stories in a way that makes sense to me, in pattern and with vigor. I'm trying to make the chaos of my surroundings organized and reintroduce information in a different tone."
